Why Paraguay?
Parafina Social Project is based in Paraguay. This is mainly because of 3 reasons:

poverty
Paraguay, one of the poorest countries in Latin America. Poverty reaches 35,1% of the population. This situation makes difficult for paraguayans to pay for a propper education, and most of the times kids end up in the streets, in contact with drugs and violence, instead of being at school learning.

floods
The school where #ParafinaSocialProject helps is located in the Fatima slum. A small town in the outskirts of Asunción, just by the Paraguay River. When rain is abundant, the river floods and covers the whole town, making people loose their houses, and everything thats inside them.

waste
When there is a flood, the access through the streets is impossible. This means that the waste is not collected, and ends up floating through the streets, getting into the neighbours houses, and polluting their drinking water. It also arrives in the river traveling through it and finally getting to the ocean.
