ISLA - Think sustainable and shop local

The ISLA frame is made from Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET), a type of plastic found in beverage containers and textiles. At Parafina we recycle the PET that comes from uncontrolled landfills to prevent it from reaching the sea. The ISLA sunglasses are characterised by the fact that they are lightweight and water resistant. The lenses we use for the ISLA model (made of polycarbonate) have UV 400 protection (cat. 3) and are polarised, i.e. they reduce glare, optical stress and offer better contrast.

The colours Transparent Yellow and Grey have mirrored lenses.

Der ISLA-Rahmen besteht aus Polyethylenterephthalat (PET), einer Kunststoffart, die in Getränkebehältern und Textilien vorkommt. Bei Parafina recyceln wir PET, das aus unkontrollierten Deponien stammt, um zu verhindern, dass es ins Meer gelangt. Die ISLA-Sonnenbrille zeichnet sich dadurch aus, dass sie leicht und wasserfest ist. Die von uns für das Modell ISLA verwendeten Gläser (aus Polycarbonat) haben einen UV-400-Schutz (Kat. 3) und sind polarisiert, d.h. sie reduzieren Blendung, optische Belastung und bieten einen besseren Kontrast.

Die Farben Transparent Yellow und Grey haben verspiegelte Gläser.

Le cadre ISLA est fabriqué en polyéthylène téréphtalate (PET), un type de plastique que l’on trouve dans les récipients pour boissons et les textiles. Chez Parafina, nous recyclons le PET qui provient de décharges non contrôlées pour éviter qu’il n’atteigne la mer. Les lunettes de soleil ISLA se caractérisent par le fait qu’elles sont légères et résistantes à l’eau. Les verres que nous utilisons pour le modèle ISLA (en polycarbonate) ont une protection UV 400 (cat. 3) et sont polarisés, c’est-à-dire qu’ils réduisent l’éblouissement, le stress optique et offrent un meilleur contraste. Les couleurs Jaune transparent et Gris ont des verres miroirs.

Il telaio ISLA è fatto di polietilene tereftalato (PET), un tipo di plastica che si trova nei contenitori per bevande e nei tessuti. Alla Parafina ricicliamo il PET che proviene dalle discariche incontrollate per evitare che arrivi al mare. Gli occhiali da sole ISLA sono caratterizzati dal fatto che sono leggeri e resistenti all’acqua. Le lenti che usiamo per il modello ISLA (in policarbonato) hanno una protezione UV 400 (cat. 3) e sono polarizzate, cioè riducono l’abbagliamento, lo stress ottico e offrono un miglior contrasto.

I colori Giallo Trasparente e Grigio hanno lenti a specchio.
